Slept better last night!
John put the finishing trims down at Casa. It's looking good!
John came in just as I was finishing up my bath and getting dressed, he had a bad nosebleed. I googled what to do and we did that, they said to sit leaning forward and hold your nose tight for 10 minutes. He did that and it was still bleeding. Tried it several times and an hour later it was still bleeding! Called Doc Wilson's office and Daryl told me to take him to the ER, he said they don't have anything at the office to stop it. So I took him to the ER. It was a much nicer visit than the time they kept him waiting for an hour out in the waiting room when he had a blood clot in his lung! Took him in pretty fast and put him in a room and a doc and 3 nurses came in to work on him! Wow! Pretty impressive. They got him set down on a bed and told him to lay back, what I read on google was NOT to do that, blood could run down the throat and into the lungs and it could be bad! He did try and had to sit right back up, couching and sputtering, blood was running down his throat and drowning him! They put the head of the bed up for him and he was okay. Doc examined him and said his nose was pretty torn up. He said it happens this time of the year, the dry air dries out the tissue and makes it bleed. His poor nostrils were red and it looked like someone took a cheese grater to them! The doc had the nurse put some cocaine in each nostril! He said is constricts the blood vessels and helps stop the bleeding. I asked if there would be any side effects and he said no, it was just a tiny dose. I never heard of this use for cocaine! It did help stop the bleeding and after a bit the doc examined him again and found a bit of seepage and cauterized that. After another check of his vitals (his blood pressure was pretty high when they first took it) they said he was okay to go home. They had a cool clothes pin looking device to put on the nose to help stop the bleeding and sent that home with us. He started seeping as we got in the car and has had a bit of blood since. Doc said to keep the nostril covered with Vaseline or Nasogel, so he has been using it since we got home. He said he has a weird headache and wonders if it is the cocaine doing it? Don't know he's the first in our family to "use" it. LOLOL!
